Pattern Making Course
I'm back to talk to you about Pattern Making.
When I embarked on the Vévette adventure, I only thought about creating sewing patterns and offering collections for women, men, and children. Then a meeting opened up other horizons for me. Charlotte, the creator of the haberdashery Le Point Commun in Malakoff, contacted me. A crazy energy, a desire to offer sewing classes but not only... She had just opened her haberdashery, or rather I should say her creative cocoon, a place combining sharing, learning, and creativity. It took us a while to bring our idea to fruition, but here it is, and we're proud of it! Le Point Commun and Vévette are teaming up to offer you an introductory pattern-making course. Two days dedicated to pattern making, a first approach to learning how to create a basic bodice and acquiring the keys to making initial modifications.
The objectives of this first cycle are:
- Construct your basic bodice from your bust, waist, and hip measurements.
- Work on dart manipulation on a mini-bodice (i.e., a reduced-scale bodice).
- Transform your base to create a personal design: adding a cut-out, adding gathers, etc.
- Construct your sleeve based on the transformations made.
- Create a first complete pattern of a design, including seam allowances.
